We need volunteers!
Get set go …
First brought to life in 2009, Bourn to Run was the brainchild of two Mums at Bourn Primary who decided to turn their love of running into a fundraising event to save the school swimming pool. Since then, we’ve never looked back!
Over the last 10 years the annual 10km and 3km running events in Cambridgeshire have gone from strength to strength, raising more than £50,000 for school projects and the local community. People come from far and wide to get involved and support the event.
It’s organised and managed by a volunteer organising committee, made up of parents from Bourn Primary and members of the Bourn Sports Club – the two charitable beneficiaries.
Renowned for its interesting multi-terrain course - on and off road and across fields and parkland, it’s both a fun and safe event that starts and finishes on temporarily closed roads around the village of Bourn. In recent years we’ve attracted record numbers of participants with over 600 registrants for the 10km and over 350 for the 3km in 2018.
We need you….
Not a runner but want to get involved?
Like any large event, Bourn to Run doesn’t organise itself! We are fortunate to have an amazing group of willing volunteers who work behind the scenes, all year round, to make it happen! However, we are always looking for new committee members to help throughout the year and on the day. If you might be interested, we’d love to hear from you. Please fill out the contact form below and see how you can get involved.
If you can’t commit to being on the committee don’t despair, as we can never have enough willing helpers on the day! We need more than 30 marshals around the course to ensure the safety and security of all our competitors – and without them, we can’t run the event so your support is crucial!
Setting up the course, car park duty, baking cakes, manning the BBQ and giving out water and medals to all our runners are also amongst the vital jobs on the day.
